This is done to ensure the comprehensive and precise analysis of the data gathered during the procedures performed to patients The coordinator is also tasked to observe the trends that happen based on the data in order to see through the effectiveness of the guidelines for procedures. The coordinator would also suggest modifications to the systems should there be a need based on these trends.

A person vying for a clinical data coordinator's position is usually required to have at least a bachelor's degree with a concentration in a scientific field or the equivalent. In some exceptional cases, an applicant with just certifications or trainings may also be considered if the experience level is high.
